LHQ Danceforce Students recently attended the hit musical Mary Poppins at The Bushnell, Connecticut’s premier performing arts center.
The students and teachers enjoyed the musical which is based on P.L. Travers' stories and the classic 1964 Walt Disney film. The show includes the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.
Following the performance, the LHQ students and faculty were thrilled to take a backstage tour given by one of the show’s dance captains.
Concluding the weekend, students attended a master class at LHQ DanceForce’s new studio in Agawam, Massachusetts. Elizabeth Earley, a member of the Mary Poppins cast, taught a routine from Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – the famous musical theatre number from the show. Miss Earley’s extensive training as a dance captain and teacher provided the LHQ students a true Broadway musical theater experience.
LHQ student, Giana Mullins, was picked as LHQ DanceForce’s Student of the Day, for her outstanding participation in class and being the Broadway Bound Star.
