Teacher/Director of All Genres of Dance and Acrobatics
Lynn Hadden-Quinn is the director of LHQ DANCEFORCE, and has been dancing, teaching and directing for over 20 years. She has been trained in all styles of dance. Her talents have given her the honor of being a featured performer and choreographer on numerous stages across the globe. She was recently featured in the "Teacher Spotlight in Dance Studio Life Magazine," in the September 2010 issue. Lynn was also certified with the DEA Teacher Training Program. This a dynamic multi-dimensional program of study, enhancing the knowledge and teaching techniques of all dance professionals. She continues her dance education training at the D'Valda & Sirico Dance Teacher Web Conference as a VIP member, as well as gaining more knowledge for her business, students & staff. Lynn is also a certified lifestyle coach and has a passion for wellness & giving back the gift of dance and wellness in her programs at LHQ Danceforce.
Ballet, Pointe and Modern
Beth Gage began her dance career at the Adams School of Dance in Rutland,Vermont under the primary instruction of Sherry Adams. While training at the Adams School of Dance, Beth had the opportunity to join the Vermont Chamber Ballet where she worked her way up from a company member to a principal dancer. She then continued her studies under the instruction of Maris Wolff at Johnson State College. While there, she was the president of the JSC Dance Ensemble and danced with the Vermont Dance Collective. She moved to Western Massachusetts after college and began her professional dance teaching career.
All Genres of Dance and Acrobatics
Brenda Hadden has extensive dance training in all subjects of dance. Her performances include: Disney's Magic Music Days, Tribute to Broadway and Beyond, Sesame Street in Concert, Lenny Gomulka's Christmas Show, The Rocky Horror Show, Rip the Mic, Burn the Floor, Choreography & performance in the show "Fabulous," a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation and many other fundraising appearances. In September 2007, she choreographed and performed at The Big E fair, with Latin performer "Danna". Brenda also choreographed and performed for the Massachusetts Twisters Dance team, "Dance Destruction". In May 2001, she graduated from Holyoke Community College, with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Dancer, Choreographer, Educator
Born and raised in West Springfield, Massachusetts, David Bovat has built a profession out of his natural ability to dance and to teach others. His Journey began at the young age of seven under the direction and influence of Anita Oski Barrette. Throughout his career as a dancer, David has had the pleasure to study with Frank Hatchett and Anthony DeVecchi of the Northeast American Ballet, to name a few. David continues to take classes at Broadway Dance Center in New York City to broaden his passion and knowledge of dance with the purpose of sharing it with his many students and colleagues.
As an accomplished dance instructor, David continues building his career, developing choreography and teaching for several dance studios and Master classes in the Western Massachusetts area. One of the many positions he holds is Dance Director at Bay Path University. David continues to put his ability and knowledge of dance to good use a Head Judge and instructor of Master classes for the Step Up to Dance tour. He a Choreographer, Artistic Director, and Lead Dancer for many events such as the Tap Dancing Santa’s at Symphony Hall and the Dancing with the Local Starts events for the Kiwanis Club of West Springfield and Agawam. David has respectfully taught for the National Association of Dance Affiliated Artists as well as the Dance Teachers Club of Boston. Above all else, he prides himself as a choreographer/dance instructor. David has choreographed for many beauty pageants, talent competitions and musical productions such as Rocky Horror Picture Show, Gypsy, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Love and Beyond, The Cher Extravaganza, and most recently Mr. Mambo. David M. Bovat continues to entertain, educate, and inspire dancers of every age and physicality. His love for the art of dance is present in everything he puts forth.
Karen Remillard Pelletier
Dance Teacher, Fitness, Pre-school and Hip Hop
Karen Remillard has been teaching dance locally for the past twenty years. She has experience teaching all levels of dance ranging from pre-school to adult. A former competition dancer, she had studied dance at local studios throughout the Springfield area as well as New York City. She has choreographed for local community theatre groups and has prepared students for talent show projects and pageants. Karen resides in Feeding Hills with her husband and two children and is also the Vice President of the Rejean Remillard Insurance Agency.
Training Consultant Specialist
Karen Lafleur has been dancing for most of her life. She has been a performer & competitor for many years at LHQ and has gone off and danced in many professtional dance and talent shows. She also does modeling on and off in her spare time. Karen is our office manager and teacher at LHQ Danceforce. Karen brings a lot of dance background and dance industry backround she worked for a well known dance costume company for many years and we are glad to have her well rounded talent with us at LHQ Danceforce.
Robert Blakley has been dancing since the age of 10 under the direction of Tracey Thomas who studied with people like Frank Hatchett, Debbie Allen, Maurice and Gregory Hines, Jasmine Guy, Judith Jameson and so many others. Robert is versatile in many different styels and genres of dance including Jazz,Tap,Ballet,Lyrical and he specializes in Hip Hop. Currently signed to MSA (Mcdonald Selznick Associates) Talent Agency out of New York and LA. Robert is currently performing in the commercial aspect of dance music videos, stage performances commercials and much more... We are happy to have Robert on staff and we look forward to all he can offer for LHQ Danceforce.
Guest Teacher: All Genres of Dance and Musical Theatre
Steven Midura, originally from West Springfield, MA received his Associates Degree from Dean College in 1996 and then transferred to the University of Tampa, FL where he received his Bachelors Degree in Performing Arts in 1998. Steven has worked as a Singer/Dancer in many venues throughout the United States including Busch Gardens Tampa and Six Flags New England. His professional career started on the high seas in 1998 with Royal Caribbean. One year later, he made the move to Crystal Cruises. Throughout his 7 years with Crystal, Steven held many positions outside of performing (including Deputy Cruise Director and Dance Captain). He produced many Holiday shows and Crew shows for the guests, staff and crew onboard. While working with Crystal Cruises on land in Pasadena, CA he served as a Dance Assistant to the Artistic Directors helping create new choreography and teaching their shows to the existing casts and new trainees. Steven lived in Las Vegas, NV from 2005-2010 where he worked in various casinos on the strip. He has also spent time living in NYC where he was soaking in the business and networking with many of today's hottest Broadway stars. After spending over nearly a decade as a performer Steven decided to establish a production company called "Shows4You Productions". As the owner and director - he produces, conceives, and choreographs anything from children's events to theatrical stage productions. Steven returned to Western New England this past March after spending 6 months as a Male Vocalist with Celebrity Cruises. Upon his return he has been instrumental in teaching dancers at several of the dance studios in the area. He also was a judge for the Step Up to Dance competitions, focusing on the enjoyment of performance and dance. He is very excited to be here at the studio this year and hopes that he can bring a bit of the "wow" factor to your child's dance career by pulling from his past experiences and positive energy!!!
Acro, Tumbling and Gym
Meghan Parnell started gymnastics at a very early age. Beginning her career as a competitive gymnast at local clubs, she then went on to compete for the South Hadley High School Tigers and at the collegiate level for the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles. While at South Hadley High School, Meghan was a Daily Hampshire Gazette 5-Star, an All Western Mass selection, and top six in the All Around each year. In her collegiate career, Meghan helped the Golden Eagles win an ECAC Championship for the first time in school history, and also helped the Golden Eagles place second at the NCGA Nationals. Meghan graduated from SUNY Brockport with her Bachelors Degree in Health Science, and went on to get her Masters of Business Administration. Meghan works as the Junior Underwriter for Consolidated Health Plans in Springfield, MA.
Hip Hop and Modern
Charles Markham is a recent graduate of Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. Through Goucher College he received his B.A in Dance with a concentration in arts administration and choreography. While at Goucher he had the privilege to work with guest artist such as Sean Curran, Jennifer Archibald, Nicholas Leichter, Constance Dinapoli of the Paul Taylor Company, Rodger Belman, and Doug Elkins. In the summer of 2012 Charles was lucky to study abroad in Edinburg, Scotland and London, England where he participated in the International Fringe Festival and trained at the Pinapple Studios and MiddleSex University. Intensive training includes the Uchenna Dance Summer School (2012), Sankofa Dance Project (2008), Goucher College Summer Arts Institute (2008), Point Park International Summer Dance Program (2007), and Camp T (2005). Charles has been teaching a verity of dance styles including contemporary modern, jazz, hip hop, and choreography for the past 5 years both in Western Mass and Maryland. He was honored to be the co president of the Goucher College Dance Team while in his senior year at Goucher College. He is currently a substitute dance teacher at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School.
Creative Designer / Custom Apparel
Connie Fink grew up dancing, she continued her love for dance, when her sister started her own dance studio. She was also employed for a dance costume company Design Works for many years. There she worked on the sewing floor and for over six years as the Design Room Coordinator. This is where her love of dance costume designs and sewing grew. She now brings that love to LHQ. Connie is our Creative Designer and also runs our LHQ custom apparel shoppe. In addition to her design duties, she is always eager to help out with LHQ students, families and staff in many ways.
Teacher/Director of All Genres of Dance and Acrobatics
Sara is an experienced and passionate choreographer, who has been teaching in Massachusetts for over 20 years. She began dancing at age 6 studying tap, jazz, ballet and acrobat. Her love for dance propelled her into assistant teaching then instructor training, all while simultaneously obtaining her BS in psychology (and minor in music) from Our Lady of The Elms College. Throughout her career, Sara has taught students of all ages in hip hop, acrobat and lyrical, with a concentration in tap, jazz, musical theater and large productions, for which she has received many accolades. Most recently she received the "Tap Sensation" award for Choreography from KAR Dance Competition (2016). Sara is NADAA certified and is an advocate for continual Dance Education. She strives to learn the newest choreography and techniques from highly-esteemed educators from the Dance Teacher Summit, Dance Educators of America, Dance Teacher Web Live and CLI studios, as well as attending workshops at Broadway Dance Center in NYC with top choreographers from around the world such as Savion Glover, Mandy Moore, Twitch, Ray Leeper, Al Blackstone and Anthony Morigerato.
Sara's professional resume includes dancing in many shows at Riverside Amusement Park in Agawam, MA (currently Six Flags New England). She was also a principal dancer for the "Ray of Elvis" tribute and a highlighted dancer for Frank Hatchett's "Salute to a Legacy." Sara also trained with the late great Frank Hatchett. She is also the Assistant Choreographer to Steven Midura at Shows4youproductions.
Sara's love of dance continues to inspire and motivate her students to not only work hard but also to be creative, expressive storytellers through the art of movement.
Susan Achilles Frilet
Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Technique, Coaching
Susan has been a dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor for over 30 years, was born in Central Massachusetts. She received her classical training from the Boston Ballet School and Balanchine's School of American Ballet in NYC. As a professional dancer with the Eglevsky Ballet in NY, Susan performed ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, and Coppelia. Furthering her professional career in New York, Susan joined the musical theater company, American Dance Machine. She danced on Broadway in a Tribute to the choreographer Agnes de Mille and toured Europe with the production of West Side Story.
Susan stayed in Europe and danced in neoclassical, modern, and contemporary dance companies including the Lyon Opera Ballet. She performed in the opening ceremonies of the winter Olympics in Albertville France. She has been recognized and rewarded for her choreography performed the the Lyon Biennale de la Dance. She has a degree in dance instruction from the French ministry of culture and has taught and choreographed in Lyon France for many years. Susan receives tremendous joy sharing her knowledge, passion, and experiences with her students.
Jennifer is a dancer, choreographer and teacher who grew up and trained at LHQ Danceforce in the Dance Intensive program. Jen has been dancing for sixteen years and competed as a dancer for eleven years. After graduating high school Jen went on to study the art of dance in New York while dabbling in costume design, and choreography. Jennifer was a featured soloist in a number of shows including SYNC, Change-A 2015 Freshman Project, and Our Fight Against Cancer-A Senior Thesis. Miss Root also spent time working for a competition company, as well teaching dance classes to local preschools. She has a plethora of experience with early childhood students and young children while also gaining experience with choreographing numbers for students in the high school and collegiate level. Jen has brought her love of dance to LHQ and trained as an assistant teacher for many years as well as a substitute teacher for two years. Miss Jen is eager to share her passion with her students, her whole purpose being to share the gift that is dance while creating magical moments within each student she meets.
Ariel has been dancing and performing since she was 3 years old and it has grown to be her true passion and calling. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Springfield College in 2013 and also studied for a year at Dean College. During her years in college she studied choreography, creative movement, dance and movement therapy, somatics, pedagogy, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, dance history, rhythmic analysis, and more. She has trained with many renowned dancers and choreographers including Kelly Peters, Jill Silverman, Naillah Randal-Belinger, Jean Wenzel and Stephanie Powell. She has taken many workshops and intensives such as Alvin Ailey, American College Dance Festival (ACDF), Dance Revolution and Ballet Magnificant to expand her training.
Ariel has spent 8+ years as a dance instructor, at studios throughout Massachusetts. She teaches a 3-credit dance course (lecture, history and movement) as adjunct professor at Springfield College. Ariel has worked as an intern for Judy Dworin Performance Project in Hartford, CT and also for the Ballroom Dance Project, bringing dance to inner-city kids of Springfield schools. Ariel was also the artistic director and choreographer for Ayita Dance—her own self-founded dance company—for 2 experimental years. We are so excited to welcome Ariel to the LHQ Danceforce.
